Wolfen 1981

The movie Wolfen came out back in 1981. While the movie wasn't that great. There were many great things about it.

1- The legend regarding the Indians and the Wolves being persecuted and almost completely extinguished is a beautiful one. According the movie they unite into a shape shifting creature living off the discards of modern society.

2 - The actors were great: Albert Finney, Gregory Hines and Edward James Olmos

3 - The film is known for its early use of an in-camera effect to portray the subjective POV of a werewolf. Similar to thermography, the technique was later adopted by other horror films such as the Predator series. The effect is no big deal for us today. But I'll tell you the effects in the movie I loved the most was when hands and heads went flying across the place after an attack. Cracked me up good!

4- My favorite part of the movie was seeing actual wolves. They used the real animals leaving to audience to absorb what gorgeous, magnificent creatures they really are.
